You are, of course, one hundred percent correct.  Docs and Reader are the two Google apps supporting Gears as of today.  That was my mistake, which is what comes from confusing conversations with developers about what might be coming in the future with what is already here.

On a side note, I don't personally use the gears offline version of the reader or docs . I'd be interested in hearing how well it works for people</description>

Why did you use examples such as Gmail and Calendar when talking about Gears? As far as I know only Docs and Reader have gears support. I wouldn't be surprised if soon Google announces more apps, as I strongly believe they will keep working hard to make Gears work on the web.</description>
