I think it would be nice if we had a bit more control over our "public" privacy setting. It would be nice to know how companies use our data, what data they have, and a way to either edit it or delete it. Also, private lives are mixing much more with professional ones as it is difficult to keep them separate online.

How does Danah Boyd continue to say such smart things? Nice to read her thoughts on social media & web 2.0 given what's been on my mind recently.

I'm big on that idea of "reshaping publics"... something Clay Shirky has talked about a lot, too. Whereas the default privacy setting of life used to be "private", now it seems to be "public". How curious!
