Many strong corporate brands also have a strong personal brand behind them (Think of Apple – Steve Jobs, Microsoft – Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer, Facebook – Mark Zuckerberg). Having a strong personal brand means that people know who you are, what you know and what you stand for.  Personal branding is key for building a business or a career.  Have you tried googling your name recently?  What comes up?  Does it represent you the way you want?

Ask every web metric you report the question “so what” three times.

Each question provides an answer that in turn raises another question (a “so what” again). If at the third “so what” you don’t get a recommendation for an action you should take, you have the wrong metric. Parts of the search engine optimisation work e-commerce sites undertake require a certain level of technical understanding which is where SEO consultants can shine. Other parts need some common sense and an eye for detail.
