Missing the Boat by Not Connecting Sales to Marketing

BoatsThe disconnect between sales and marketing is probably as old as the two industrys/jobs. Many companies keep marketing and sales in separate departments which never talk to each other, which not only causes friction, it can mean lost sales, especially in these days of the social web. Detroit! Let’s Hear What You Have to Say! – Ignite Detroit #2

It’s been a little while since Ignite Detroit #1, which was a blast and really showcased some interesting topics and speakers. We were entertained. We were educated. We were enthusiastic! Brandon Chesnutt, Norm Witte and myself are proud to (finally) announce Ignite Detroit #2 which will be held at the amazing Sound Board inside the MotorCity Casino Hotel on Thursday, April 14th at 7:30pm. Do you have something amazing, interesting or entertaining to say to Detroit? Submit a talk idea by March 15th.

Topics will be selected by both the community and event organizers.  You may have the chance to wow Detroit from here:

I know. Pretty amazing! Get those thinking caps working and brainstorm an awesome idea to submit.

Check out more about Sound Board and the MotorCity Casino Hotel on Facebook & Twitter.

Business + Technical Product Management

My sweet spot is at the intersection between technology and business. I love to manage and develop products, market them, and deep dive into technical issues when needed. Leveraging strategic and creative thinking to problem solving is when I thrive. I have developed and marketed products for a variety of industries and companies, including manufacturing, eCommerce, retail, software, publishing, media, law, accounting, medical, construction, & marketing.
