It may be a matter of semantics but to me being thankful is mostly an internal process whereas being appreciative involves letting those you’re thankful for know. Doing well in business is largely an equation made up of lots of little things (including some luck), but letting people know you’re thankful for their support goes a long way.
Think about the businesses you regularly frequent (both online and offline). You probably got a good vibe the first time you went. Even if you can’t remember the experience exactly, you probably were greeted, helped promptly and accurately and thanked for your purchase. Great customer service goes a long way towards our impressions of any company.
During this time of Thanksgiving (for us Americans), try letting those you’re thankful for know. Try extending a Thanksgiving tradition to a year-round, all-the-time tradition. You may be very thankful for the results.
I also wanted to take a minute to let all of you know that I really appreciate your continued support. I am just thrilled that you take the time out of your busy schedule to read my words and interact with me. Thank you very much.
