Use Twitterfeed to Automate Sending Feeds to Twitter

twitterfeedYou have a blog and you want your posts to automatically be tweeted without having to remember to do it.  Or you’re reading articles on Google Reader and you’d like to have interesting ones sent automatically to Twitter.  Twitterfeed takes any RSS feed and automatically sends new posts to Twitter for you.  But you’ll have quite a bit of control over how the feed works…

For every feed you have control over how often it checks for new items, and how many items it sends (so you’re not too spammy), whether it sends the title or adds on the first few characters, how it sorts your feed, and what it appends or prefixes each tweet with. To track how many people click on your links, Twitterfeed integrates with over 20 different URL shortening services, including bit.ly, digg, and SNIPurl. Twitterfeed will also post to ping.fm, laconia, or HelloTxt.

Here at Sazbean, we use Twitterfeed to tweet all our blog posts, as well as items we want to share from our Google reader feed.  I’ve been fairly happy with the service, although it tends to get a little slow in the afternoon (when Twitter gets slow).  I’ve also had some problems using the OpenID with my gmail id – but that may be a problem between Twitterfeed and Google.

Do you use Twitterfeed?  What do you think?
